May–Mid June Fishing Report: Walleyes in the Weeds & Smallmouth Transitions

Water temps have delayed the smallmouth spawn on deeper clear lakes, while walleye and perch remain buried in newly accelerated weed growth. Keep an eye out for pike and musky mixed in!

Late May–Mid June: Water temps started out behind schedule on our deeper, clear lakes for Smallmouth Bass. Because of this, their spawning may be a bit later than usual this year.

Smallmouth Bass Update: We are currently finding smallies off the breaks adjacent to their spawning beds. Most spawning beds were not fully developed over Memorial Day weekend, but this is partially due to the holiday weekend falling early this year.

Walleye & Perch in the Weeds: Walleye and Perch are still buried deep in the weeds. The weed growth has really accelerated and come up in recent weeks, meaning there are far more weed areas to choose from when you're out on the water.

⚠️ Bonus Action: Don’t forget that musky and northern pike are heavily mixed in with the walleye and perch in these exact same weed beds, so expect a few surprise hookups!
