On August 19, Jay, Mary, and Steven put together a solid walleye day—the kind where persistence makes all the difference.
We had to work to find fish that wanted to cooperate. The walleye were active on only a couple spots, while other locations looked promising but just didn’t produce the same response.
On several spots, fish would swim up to our weedless Jack’s Jigs paired with medium fathead minnows, inspect the presentation, and slowly swim away. Staying patient, covering water, and returning to the right areas is what paid off for this crew.
It was a great reminder that not every bite is easy—but the anglers who keep working are the ones who turn a tough day into a solid one.
